Red Door Gin launched at the start of July 2018. It is named after the distinctive red doors at Benromach Distillery where an old malt barn has been converted into a modern ginnery. Red Door is a small-batch, handcrafted London Dry style gin.
Inspired by Scotland’s mountains, forests and coastal fringes, Red Door has been lovingly created by a dedicated team of distillers using the finest botanicals to create an elegantly distinctive Gin.
Red Door Gin delivers signature notes of juniper and a defining citrus note of bitter orange, with aromatic sea buckthorn, floral pearls of heather and chocolatey rowanberries. Handmade in a copper pot still, affectionately named, ‘Peggy’, the vapour-infused distilling method steams the neutral base spirit through eight botanicals and is then bottled at 45% ABV.
Created by family owned Benromach Distillery, producers of the eponymous award winning single malt whisky, the Benromach gin - Red Door Gin - marks a new chapter in their distinguished history.
Benromach Distillery in Forres, Scotland was purchased by Elgin firm Gordon and Macphail in 1993 and production restarted there in 1998. In July 2018 Benromach added a gin still in their old malt barn, "Peggy" and production of Red Door Highland Gin began.
